Salzburg and its picturesque region can be reached in several ways:
1. Arriving at Salzburg Airport: While not many international flights arrive directly here, the airport is accessible via connections from other countries or major airports.
2. Landing at Munich or Memmingen in Germany: Renting a car and driving to Salzburg from either of these airports is a convenient option. The journey takes about two hours. Before crossing into Austria, you must purchase the Vignette, a special sticker for the Austrian toll roads, available at gas stations near the border.
